ATLANTA (February 1, 2023) — СÖíÊÓƵ Center was pleased to hear Secretary of State Antony Blinken affirm the Biden administration’s goal of equal measures of freedom, security, opportunity, justice, and dignity for Palestinians and Israelis in his public remarks in Jerusalem this week. We support the administration’s sustained opposition to settlement construction, annexation of the West Bank, demolition of Palestinian houses, and displacement of Palestinians from their land. But concrete steps must be made to turn the promise of equal measures into a living reality for the Palestinian people. We urge the U.S. to push the new Israeli government to end its harmful actions, follow international law, respect human rights, and work for an end to the occupation.
